TITLE I
OF THE INSTITUTION, ITS PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLES

CHAPTER I
OF THE UNIVERSITY

Art. 1st Universidade Paulista – UNIP, maintained by Assupero Ensino Superior Ltda., a for-profit limited liability company, registered with the CNPJ/MF under No. at JUCESP under NIRE 3523113603-9 on July 6, 2018, is governed by the specific legislation in force, by these Bylaws, by the Articles of Association of the Maintaining Entity, by its General Regulations, and by Resolutions of the University Council and the Teaching Council, Research and Extension.

§ 1 The Universidade Paulista – UNIP, in order to meet the proposed objectives and the full use of its human and material resources, may maintain courses outside its headquarters and jurisdiction.

§ 2 The Universidade Paulista – UNIP maintains University Units with undergraduate and graduate courses in the regional headquarters of Araçatuba, Araraquara, Assis, Bauru, Campinas, Jundiaí, Limeira, Ribeirão Preto, Santana de Parnaíba, Santos, São José do Rio Pardo, São José do Rio Preto, São José dos Campos and Sorocaba, in the State of São Paulo, in Brasília (DF), Goiânia (GO) and in Manaus (AM).

Art. 2nd Universidade Paulista enjoys didactic-scientific, administrative, disciplinary, financial and asset management autonomy, within the limits set by the legislation in force, governed by:

I - By this Statute;

II - By the Articles of Incorporation of the Maintaining Entity;

III - By the General Rules of the University;

IV - By the relevant legislation in force;

V - By other internal normative acts, where applicable.

§ 1 The didactic-scientific autonomy consists of the ability to:

I - Establish its Teaching, Research and Extension policy;

II - Create, organize, modify, suspend operation and extinguish courses, observing current legislation and the requirements of the social, economic and cultural environment;

III - Establish the number of initial vacancies for new courses and change the number of existing vacancies;

IV - Organize the full curricula of its courses, in accordance with current legislation;

V - Establish its school and didactic regime;

VI - Sign contracts, agreements and covenants;

VII - Confer degrees, diplomas, titles and other university dignities;

VIII - Propose the reform of this Statute and the General Rules to higher bodies;

§ 2 Administrative autonomy consists of the option to:

I - Elaborate, approve and amend the regulations of its administrative bodies;

II - Propose to the Maintaining Entity the setting of fees and fees to be charged by the University;

III - Elaborate the budget piece to be sent to the Maintaining Entity.

§ 3° Disciplinary autonomy consists of the faculty of establishing the system of sanctions and applying them, obeying the legal prescriptions and the general principles of Law.

§ 4 The autonomy of financial and asset management consists of the option of:

I - Organize and control the budgetary part, as well as the goods made available by the Maintaining Entity;

II - Approving and executing investment plans, programs and projects related to works, services and acquisitions in general, as well as managing income in accordance with institutional provisions;

III - Receive grants, donations, inheritances, legacies and financial cooperation resulting from agreements with public and private entities.

CHAPTER II
THE PURPOSES OF THE UNIVERSITY

Art. 3º The purpose of Universidade Paulista is to:

I - To promote Teaching, Research and Extension through the cultivation of knowledge, in the fields of Science, Humanities, Arts and Technologies, and its application at the service of the progress of the human person and the community;

II - Contribute to the acquisition of skills, competences and to the development of reflective thinking in the preparation of qualified professionals and technologists;

III - Contribute to the cultural strengthening of the community in its area of coverage and influence;

IV - Promote solidarity among people;

V - Raise the permanent desire for personal, cultural and professional improvement and enable the integration of acquired knowledge into a systematizing intellectual structure;

VI - Collaborate in the country's development effort, articulating with public authorities and the private sector, in the search for solutions to regional and national problems;

VII - Promote extension and interaction initiatives with other sectors of society through the application of knowledge in articulation with teaching and research.

CHAPTER III
PRINCIPLES AND RULES OF THE ORGANIZATION

Art. 4º Universidade Paulista is organized in compliance with the following principles:

I - Respect for human rights;

II - Preservation of freedom of thought, teaching, research and dissemination of culture and art,

III - Equity and administration unit;

IV - Rationality of the organization for the full use of its human and material resources;

V - Integration of Teaching, Research and Extension functions;

VI - Continuous search for quality and appreciation of the education professional;

VII - Universality of field through the cultivation of fundamental areas of human knowledge;

VIII - Flexibility of organization, methods and criteria to meet the individual differences of students, regional specificities, the combination of knowledge and the integration of technological advances.

TITLE II
OF THE INSTITUTIONAL ORGANIZATION OF THE UNIVERSITY

CHAPTER I
OF THE CAMPI

Art. 5º Universidade Paulista will act in a decentralized manner, being able to create University Units outside its headquarters and jurisdiction, in accordance with the legislation in force.

Art. 6º Universidade Paulista may create new campuses and new University Units under the terms of the legislation in force.

CHAPTER II
UNIVERSITY BODIES

Art. 7th São Paulo University Bodies:

I - Superior Deliberation:

a) University Council (CONSUNI);

b) Teaching, Research and Extension Council (CONSEPE).

II - Senior Management:

a) Rectorate, exercised by the Rector;

b) Vice-Rectories, exercised by the Vice-Rectors.

III - Academic Administration:

a) Management of Institutes;

b) Coordination of courses;

c) Coordination Council.

IV - Supplements.

CHAPTER III
SUPERIOR DELIBERATION BODIES

Section I
of the University Council

Art. 8 The University Council, the body that defines university policies and guidelines for general and academic administration, pursuant to this Statute and the General Regulations, is composed of the following members:

I - Rector, as its president;

II - Vice-rectors;

III - A representative of the Coordination Council;

IV - One representative of the Undergraduate Faculty;

V - A representative of the stricto sensu Post-Graduation Faculty ;

VI - One representative of the Undergraduate Student Body;

VII - One representative of the Graduate Student Body stricto sensu ;

VIII - One representative of the Boards;

IX - One representative of the Supplementary bodies;

X - A representative of the Community;

XI - A representative of the Maintaining Entity.

§ 1 The representatives related to items II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X will be appointed by the Rector from indicative lists.

§ 2 The representative members referred to in items II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X have terms of office lasting two years, and may be renewed.

§ 3 The representative of the Community will be chosen among the members of other institutions, associations and/or representative bodies of the community.

Art. 9 The University Council is responsible for:

I - Exercise superior jurisdiction in general and academic administration, economic-financial management and planning of the University;

II - Establish the general policy of the University, appraising the work plans and the corresponding budget proposals;

III - Care for the moral and material assets of the University, in accordance with the Disciplinary Regime set forth in the General Regulations;

IV - Approve the Statute and its amendments, after hearing the Teaching, Research and Extension Council, in what is within its competence, obeying the legislation;

V - Approve and amend the General Rules;

VI - Approve and amend the Regulations of the Vice-Rectories and other bodies;

VII - Decide on the appeals submitted for consideration;

VIII - Decide, in view of plans approved by the Board of Education, Research and Extension, on the creation, aggregation, incorporation, modification or extinction of Courses or Boards;

IX - Decide, in view of the plans approved by the Board of Education, Research and Extension, on the creation of new campuses and new University Units, in accordance with articles 5 and 6;

X - Approve the decisions of the Teaching, Research and Extension Council regarding the creation, organization, modification, suspension of operation and extinction of courses, as well as the determination of the number of vacancies for each course;

XI - Deliberate on fees and fees to be charged by the University, in compliance with the relevant legislation, having previously consulted the Supporting Entity;

XII - Deliberate on the granting of university dignities and award prizes and distinctions as a reward and stimulus to the academic and administrative activities of the University;

XIII - Approve and authorize agreements, covenants and contracts of interest to the University with national and foreign institutions;

XIV - Approve the Staff of Teaching and Technical-Administrative Personnel and its alterations, as well as establish norms referring to the administration of human resources, previously hearing the Maintaining Entity and respecting the legislation;

XV - Determine measures and apply sanctions aimed at preventing or correcting acts of collective indiscipline, as well as determining the suspension of activities of any body or course of the University;

XVI - Propose to the Maintaining Entity the allocation of additional and supplementary funds during the period in force to meet any needs;

XVII - Carry out other attributions within its competence, pursuant to the law, these Bylaws and the General Regulations;

XVIII - Decide on cases not covered by this Statute and the General Regulations.

Art. 10. The University Council ordinarily meets once every semester, convened by the Rector, and, extraordinarily, when necessary, at the initiative of that authority or request of an absolute majority of its members.

§ 1º The University Council works with the presence of the majority of its members and its decisions are taken by the absolute majority of the votes of the members present.

§ 2 The University Council shall be convened by written notice, at least seventy-two hours in advance, mentioning the matter to be addressed, unless it is considered confidential by the Rector.

§ 3 The deadline for calling meetings on an urgent basis is waived.

Section II
of the Teaching, Research and Extension Council

Art. 11. The Teaching, Research and Extension Council is the University's regulatory body in terms of Teaching, Research and Extension, and is composed of:

I - Rector, as its president;

II - Vice-rectors;

III - A representative of the Coordination Council;

IV - One representative of the Undergraduate Faculty;

V - One representative of the stricto sensu Graduate Faculty ;

VI - One representative of the Undergraduate Student Body;

VII - One representative of the Graduate Student Body stricto sensu ;

VIII - One representative of the Supplementary Bodies;

IX - One representative of the Boards;

X - A representative of the Community;

XI - A representative of the Maintaining Entity.

§ 1 The representatives related to items III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX will be chosen by the Rector, based on indication.

§ 2 The mandates referring to the positions mentioned in items II, III, VIII and IX have a duration of two years, and may be reappointed.

§ 3 The representative of the Community will be chosen among the members of associations and representative bodies of the community.

Art. 12. It is incumbent upon the Teaching, Research and Extension Council:

I - Propose amendments to the Statute and General Regulations of the University in terms of its competence for approval by the University Council;

II - Propose plans to be submitted to the University Council on the creation of new campuses and new university units, in accordance with articles 5 and 6;

III - Establish guidelines for teaching, research and extension, their projects, programs and activities;

IV - Approving projects and teaching, research and extension programs, as well as proposing financial aid for their execution, avoiding the duplication of means for identical or equivalent purposes;

V - Propose to the University Council the creation, aggregation, incorporation, modification or extinction of courses, as well as the fixing of vacancies;

VI - Approve full curricula, as well as the offer of disciplines in the different courses and academic periods;

VII - Prepare and approve the General Calendar of the University;

VIII - Establish norms on admission, cancellation, withdrawal of enrollment, transfer of students, entrance exams and use of studies;

IX - Approve teaching career plans;

X - Decide on the hiring and dismissal of teachers;

XI - Deliberate, originally or on appeal, on matters within its competence.

Art. 13. The Teaching and Research Council ordinarily meets once every semester, convened by the Rector, and, extraordinarily, when necessary, upon initiative of that authority or request of an absolute majority of its members.

§ 1 The Teaching and Research Council acts with the presence of the majority of its members and its decisions are taken by the absolute majority of the votes of the members present.

§ 2nd The Teaching and Research Council shall be convened by written notice, at least seventy-two hours in advance, mentioning the matter to be addressed, unless it is considered confidential by the Rector. ).

§ 3 The deadline for calling meetings on an urgent basis is waived.

§ 4 There may be, within a period of fifteen days, an appeal to the University Council against the decisions of the Teaching, Research and Extension Council.

CHAPTER IV
SENIOR MANAGEMENT

Section I
of the Rectory

Art. 14. The Rectory is the Higher Executive body of the University that coordinates and supervises all activities, and is responsible for:

I - Manage the human, financial and material resources made available to the University, aiming at the improvement and development of its Teaching, Research and Extension activities;

II - Formulate the General Plan of the University, as well as the budget proposal, forwarding them for approval by the competent bodies;

III - Coordinate and control the execution of approved plans, evaluating the results and adopting measures for their fulfillment.

Art. 15. In the exercise of its competence, the Rectory is assisted by the following Vice-Rectories:

I - Undergraduate Vice-Rectory;

II - Vice-Rectory for Graduate Studies and Research;

III - Vice-Rectory of Administration and Finance;

IV - Vice-rector of Planning;

V - Vice-rector of Extension;

VI - Vice-rector of International Relations;

VII - Vice-rector of Human Resources and Personnel;

VIII - Vice-rector of University Units;

IX - Vice-Rectory for University Community Affairs.

Art. 16. The Rector is exercised by the Rector, appointed by the Maintaining Entity for a term of 2 (two) years, with the possibility of reappointment.

Art. 17. The Rector is responsible for:

I - Represent the University in and out of court;

II - Direct, coordinate and supervise all activities of the University;

III - Appoint the Vice-Rectors, Directors, Coordinators, General Secretary, directors of supplementary bodies and advisors;

IV - Choose, through nominations, for the higher deliberation bodies, the vice-rectors, representatives of the undergraduate faculty, stricto sensu graduate faculty, undergraduate student body, post-graduate student body grading stricto sensu and supplementary organs;

V - Sign or promote the signing of contracts, agreements and adjustments approved by the competent bodies of the Maintaining Entity;

VII - Take decisions, in exceptional cases, ad referendum of the competent bodies, being responsible for submitting them to the Superior Collegiate at the subsequent meeting;

VIII - Download Resolutions referring to the deliberation of the Collegiate Committees he chairs;

IX - Preside, with right to voice and vote, any Collegiate to which he attends;

X - Authorize any public pronouncement involving the University;

XI - Carrying out the acts necessary for the administration of personnel and the maintenance of order and discipline at the University;

XII - Supervise the formulation of the University's General Plan, as well as budget proposals, for examination and approval by the competent bodies;

XIII - Determine the application of the University's income in accordance with the approved budget;

XIV - Confer degrees and issue diplomas and professional titles, as well as sign certificates or delegate these competences;

XV - Confer honorary titles and academic dignities, after hearing the University Council;

XVI - Give a conclusive opinion for the acceptance of professors, in case of urgency, ad referendum of the University Council;

XVII - Establish commissions;

XVIII - Resolve any omissions in this Statute or in the General Regulations of the University, ad referendum of the competent body.

Art. 18. The Rector may veto a decision by the University Council or the Teaching, Research and Extension Council up to 10 days after the meeting in which it was taken.

§ 1º If a resolution is vetoed, the Rector will summon the Collegiate to, in a meeting to be held within 15 days, inform the reasons for the veto.

§ 2 The rejection of the veto by a majority of 2/3, at least, of all the members of the competent Collegiate implies approval of the vetoed resolution.

§ 3º From the rejection of the veto in matter that involves economic-financial matters, there is an ex officio appeal to the Maintaining Entity, within 10 days, the decision of which is considered final on the matter.

Art. 19. The Rectory provides for the organization, competence and functioning of its bodies and services.

Section II
Vice-Rectories

Art. 20. Each Vice-Rector is an auxiliary advisory body of the Rector, under the responsibility of a Vice-Rector, designated by the Rector.

Single paragraph. In the absences or impediments of the Rector, he/she will be substituted by one of the Vice-Rectors, especially designated by him/her with the approval of the Supporting Entity.

Art. 21. Vice-Rectorships are exercised by Vice-Rectors, freely chosen by the Rector, in the manner established by these Statute and by the General Regulations.

Single paragraph. It will be up to the Rector, when appointing the Vice-Rectors and at his sole discretion, to assign one or more Vice-Rectorates to one or more Vice-Rectors or, even, to dismember part of the competence of a Vice-Rectorate to more than one Vice-Rector, so that one or more Vice-Rectors are responsible for the divided competence, provided that: (i) such attribution does not result in the creation of new powers not provided for in these Bylaws; and (ii) all the competences of the Vice-Rectories have been assigned to one or more Vice-Rectors.

Art. 22. The Undergraduate Vice-Rectory is the executive body that oversees, coordinates and supervises the University's Undergraduate Teaching activities, being exercised by a Vice-Rector with the following duties:

I - Coordinate and supervise academic activities;

II - To supervise the elaboration of the Pedagogical Projects of the graduation courses;

III - Supervise the updating of the course matrices in compliance with the National Curriculum Guidelines;

IV - Supervise and integrate course coordination and teaching-learning activities with a view to continuous improvement of the quality of courses offered in different modalities;

V - Propose and encourage the incorporation of new teaching methods and the use of new technologies to enhance learning;

VI - Propose intra, inter and multidisciplinary activities to enrich courses and programs;

VII - Supervise and monitor internship activities and encourage contact with the professional world and companies;

VIII - Analyze the documentation referring to teaching degrees, with a view to improving the faculty of the University;

IX - Propose measures to encourage teacher updating and training, as well as the necessary measures for their implementation;

X - Monitor the evaluations and academic records of students;

XI - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts, within its sphere of competence;

XII - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

XIII - Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Art. 23. The Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Research, the Executive body that oversees, coordinates and supervises the University's graduate and research activities, is exercised by a Vice-Rector with the following duties:

I - Propose programs to support scientific research and teaching and student production;

II - Propose master's and doctoral programs in accordance with the guidelines of the competent bodies of the Ministry of Education and Culture;

III - Propose and monitor Research Groups and register them with the National Research Council;

IV- Prepare reports required by the bodies of the Ministry of Education and Culture and monitor the external evaluation of stricto sensu programs ;

V - Coordinate and supervise academic activities, as well as the evaluation of the quality of postgraduate education ( stricto sensu and lato sensu );

VI - Register and disseminate the scientific production of the faculty and students;

VII - Stimulate the carrying out of research in contact with the professional world and companies;

VIII - Encourage exchange and participation in joint research with public and private bodies in the country and abroad, after consulting the Vice-Rector for International Relations;

IX - Stimulate the participation of researchers in graduate education;

X - Encourage student participation in Monitoring and Scientific Initiation projects;

XI - Encourage the development of projects aimed at raising funds from funding agencies for graduate and research activities;

XII - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts within its sphere of competence;

XIII - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

XIV- Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Art. 24. The Vice-Rector for Administration and Finance is the executive body responsible for coordinating and supervising the administrative and financial activities of the University, being exercised by a Vice-Rector, with the following duties:

I - Centralize the information regarding the needs of each sector of the University to enable administrative execution;

II - Coordinate and implement the University's computerization activities and the development and improvement of its information and communication systems;

III - To meet the needs of material and services essential to the functioning of the University;

IV - Monitor, evaluate and propose the incorporation of technical innovations;

V - Develop trend studies and comparative analyzes of administrative performance;

VI - Collaborate in the preparation of the annual budget and monitor its execution;

VII – Create cost appropriation and analysis mechanisms and propose expenditure rationalization measures;

VIII - Coordinate and implement the physical expansion activities of the University;

IX - Forward, annually, the activity report to the Rectory;

X - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts within its sphere of competence;

XI - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

XII - Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Art. 25. The Vice-Rector of Planning is the executive body responsible for analyzing the evolution of the University, being exercised by a Vice-Rector, with the following attributions:

I - Analyze, propose and coordinate the physical expansion of the University;

II - Analyze, propose and coordinate the opening or closing of University Units;

III - Analyze, propose and coordinate the merger, alteration or closure of the University's campus ;

IV - Forward, annually, the report of activities to the Rectory;

V - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts within its sphere of competence;

VI - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

VII - Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Art. 26. The Vice-Rector for Extension, the executive body that oversees and coordinates extension activities, is exercised by a Vice-Rector with the following duties:

I - Promote, coordinate and supervise activities aimed at greater integration of the university community and of this community with the local community;

II - Promote and register community outreach actions, cultural and artistic production;

III - Encourage student activities in the sociocultural field;

IV - Promote culture in the university environment, showing its history and importance in understanding what is contemporary and thinking about the future;

V - Promote the participation of the University's teaching, student and technical-administrative bodies in integrative actions;

VI - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts within its sphere of competence;

VII - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

VIII - Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Art. 27. The Vice-Rectory of University Units, the executive body that coordinates and supervises the University Units in the interior of the State of São Paulo, is exercised by a Vice-Rector with the following attributions:

I - Coordinate and supervise the integration of teaching, research and extension activities of common interest in the University Units;

II - Stimulate ethical and non-discriminatory behavior in University Units;

III - Plan student support and affirmative action programs for University Units in your region;

IV - Opinion on agreements with public or private entities that involve interests of University Units in their region;

V - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts within its sphere of competence;

VI - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

VII - Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Art. 28. The Vice-Rectory for University Community Affairs, the executive body that coordinates and supervises the University's student assistance measures, is exercised by a Vice-Rector with the following duties:

I - Establish the adequacy of the administrative and technical services of the different campuses of the University, necessary for the successful completion of the courses offered;

II - Establish the adequacy of the administrative and technical services of the different campuses of the University, necessary for the good service to the faculty and students;

III - Establish the necessary measures to adapt the administrative and technical services of the different campuses of the University in compliance with the principles of optimization of material and human resources;

IV- Supervise compliance with safety standards on the University's campuses ;

V - Supervise and care for the University's assets on its campuses ;

VI - Issue opinions on matters within its competence;

VII - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts in its sphere of competence;

VIII - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

IX - Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Art. 29. The Vice-Rector of Human Resources and Personnel, the executive body that coordinates and supervises activities related to human resources at the University, at the administrative, technical and teaching levels, is exercised by a Vice-Rector with the following assignments:

I - Propose Human Resources policies;

II - Plan and propose to higher bodies careers, positions, functions, and salaries at the University;

III - Manage and control the execution of the career charts, positions, functions and salaries of the University bodies;

IV - Ensure compliance with the legislation in force;

V - Give an opinion on the hiring and dismissal of personnel at the administrative, technical and teaching levels;

VI - Plan programs for training and development of human resources;

VII - Plan recruitment and selection processes;

VIII - Record occurrences related to functional life and keep them updated;

IX - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts within its sphere of competence;

X - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

XI - Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Art. 30. The Vice-Rector of International Relations, the executive body of advice and assistance in the University's international relations, is exercised by a Vice-Rector with the following duties:

I - Promoting, proposing, preparing and supervising didactic and scientific collaboration agreements with international teaching and research institutions, public and private;

II - Promote faculty and student exchange with international teaching and research institutions, public and private;

III - Encourage collaboration with international scientific activities;

IV - Promoting and monitoring the insertion of professors and students from international institutions at the University;

V - Sign Ordinances, Rules and Acts within its sphere of competence;

VI - Exercise disciplinary power in its area of competence;

VII - Perform any function that, by its nature, affects it.

Subsection I
Board of Directors

Art. 31. The Executive Boards, subordinated to the Rectory, coordinate and support the University's actions.

Single paragraph. On the initiative of the Rectory, after consulting the Maintaining Entity, Boards may be created, suppressed or altered and submitted to the Superior Collegiate Boards.

Subsection II
Of the Diploma Registration Office

Art. 32. The Diploma Registration Sector is an organ of the General Secretariat subordinated to the Rectory, developing specific activities, and its functions are regulated by the General Regulations and current legislation.

Subsection III
Supplementary Bodies

Art. 33. The Supplementary Bodies, subordinated to the Rectory, develop specific advisory and support activities for the University's actions and will have their attributions and structures defined in the General Regulations.

Single paragraph. On the initiative of the Rectory, after consulting the Maintaining Entity, these bodies may be created, suppressed or altered, with acts submitted to the Superior Collegiate Committees.

CHAPTER V
ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION

Section I
Course Coordination

Art. 34. The Coordination of Undergraduate Courses will monitor, control and evaluate the teaching activities of the respective courses.

Art. 35. The coordination of undergraduate and graduate courses will be carried out by a Coordinator appointed by the Rector.

Art. 36. The General Rules will regulate the other aspects related to the Coordination of the Courses.

Section II
Coordination Councils

Art. 37. The Coordination Councils will be made up of coordinators of courses in related areas, being responsible for executing the decisions of the higher bodies of the University.

Art. 38. The composition and competence of the Coordination Councils will be regulated in the General Regulations.

Section III
Structuring Teaching Core

Art. 39. The Structuring Teaching Nucleus of the courses will have the following functions:

I - Contribute to the consolidation of the professional profile of the graduates of the course;

II - Ensure the interdisciplinary curriculum integration between the different teaching activities contained in the curriculum;

III - Indicate ways of encouraging the development of lines of research and extension, arising from undergraduate needs, labor market requirements and in tune with public policies related to the area of knowledge of the course;

IV - Ensure compliance with the National Curriculum Guidelines for Undergraduate Courses.

Art. 40. The composition and competence of the Structuring Teaching Nuclei will be regulated in the General Regulations, obeying the educational legislation.

TITLE III
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

CHAPTER I
COURSES

Art. 41. The University will offer the following courses and programs:

a) Undergraduate courses;

b) Stricto sensu and lato sensu graduate programs ;

c) Extension courses and others, in accordance with the legislation.

Art. 42. Undergraduate courses will aim to enable the student to obtain academic and professional degrees.

Art. 43. Undergraduate courses are open to candidates who have completed high school or equivalent and have been classified in the selection process for admission to the University, within the limits of the vacancies offered.

Art. 44. Stricto sensu graduate courses lead to master's and doctoral degrees and are open to candidates who have graduated from undergraduate courses, recognized by the MEC, and who meet the requirements of the selection process.

§ 1 The master's level aims to enrich the scientific, didactic and professional competence of graduates.

§ 2 The doctoral level deepens scientific training, improving research capacity, creative power and the advancement of knowledge in different areas of human knowledge.

Art. 45. Lato sensu postgraduate courses are aimed at graduates from higher education courses, recognized by the MEC, and aim to update knowledge and prepare specialists in specific professional or knowledge areas.

Art. 46. Extension courses aim to disseminate, expand and update knowledge and work techniques.

Art. 47. The curriculum of each course will cover a set of disciplines, the completion of which will entitle the corresponding diploma or certificate.

Art. 48. The full curricula of courses corresponding to professions regulated by law will be structured based on the National Curriculum Guidelines, approved by the National Council of Education.

Art. 49. In undergraduate, stricto sensu or lato sensu postgraduate courses , in any type of teaching, the evaluation of school performance will cover aspects of attendance and efficiency in studies, both of which are eliminatory in themselves, under the terms of the Rules of Procedure in effect.

Art. 50. With the aim of awakening in students an interest in a university career, the University will maintain a Monitoring program.

CHAPTER II
RESEARCH

Art. 51. Research at the University will have a specific function, focused on the search for new knowledge, with a view to scientific, technological, social and cultural development.

Art. 52. Research projects should be based, as a priority, on questions related to the local, regional and national reality.

Art. 53. Research agreements and support programs will be approved by the higher bodies of the University.

Art. 54. With the aim of arousing interest in research in students, the University will maintain a Scientific Initiation program.

Art. 55. In order to carry out its research activities, the University will have, in addition to professors and researchers, students participating in the Scientific Initiation program.

CHAPTER III
EXTENSION

Art. 56. The University will participate in community development through outreach activities.

Art. 57. The extension may reach the scope of the entire community or address people and public or private institutions, in the fulfillment of specific projects linked to institutional axes.

Art. 58. Extension projects must follow current legislation.

TITLE IV
SCHOOL AND DIDACTIC REGIME

CHAPTER I
OF THE SCHOOL CALENDAR

Art. 59. The academic year is independent of the calendar year, and academic activities cannot occupy less time than provided for in the legislation in force and disciplined in the General Regulations.

CHAPTER II
REGISTRATION, USE OF SUBJECTS, CANCELLATION, CANCELLATION AND TRANSFERS

Art. 60. Admission to undergraduate courses is open to candidates who have completed regular secondary education or equivalent and have been classified in a selection process, regulated by the General Regulations, under the terms of the legislation in force.

Art. 61. Candidates approved in the selection process are admitted to the initial enrollment, up to the limit of vacancies offered in each course and in compliance with the norms contained in the General Regulations and in the Public Notice.

Single paragraph. The entry of candidates holding a higher education diploma or transferred from other educational institutions can be carried out provided that the rules in force and the limit of vacancies for each course are observed.

Art. 62. Students have the right to request transfer to another higher education institution or re-option of a course internally at the University, provided that the requirements set out in the General Regulations and the legislation in force are met.

Art. 63. The University will receive, upon application by interested parties, transfers always conditioned to the existence of vacancies under the terms of the legislation in force.

Art. 64. The suspension of enrollment may be done for a period of up to two years, renewable for another year at the discretion of the University.

Art. 65. On an experimental basis, the University may adopt different academic and assessment systems, which will be regulated in its General Regulations.

CHAPTER III
JUBILATION

Art. 66. The retirement of students will take place after their stay at the University for a period equivalent to twice the time of completion of the course, for courses in which this time is two or three years, or twice the time of completion of the course of the course minus one, for the other courses.

Art. 67. As a consequence of retirement, the student loses the right to renew his enrollment and the institution ceases its relationship with him.

TITLE V
OF THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

CHAPTER I
OF THE COMPOSITION

Art. 68. The University Community is formed by the teaching, student and technical-administrative bodies.

Section I
Faculty

Art. 69. The teaching staff is made up of duly qualified teachers who are committed to respecting the principles and values set out in these Bylaws and the General Regulations.

Art. 70. Faculty members will be selected by the Coordination Council of each area and indicated to the Vice-Rector of Undergraduate Studies for analysis and forwarding to the Vice-Rector of Human Resources.

Art. 71. The forms of entry, promotion and specific attributions of each category of faculty and their ranking are established in the Regulation of the Superior Magisterium and in the General Regulation.

Art. 72. The act of admission and dismissal of professors, after hearing the Vice-Rectory of Human Resources and obeying the labor legislation in force, will be the competence of the Supporting Entity.

Section II
Student Body and Student Representation

Art. 73. The University's student body comprises students regularly enrolled in its courses.

Art. 74. The act of registration implies a formal commitment to respect this Statute, the General Regulations and the rules issued by the competent bodies, constituting a punishable offense for non-compliance.

Art. 75. The student body has representation, with the right to voice and vote, in the Collegiate Bodies of the Higher Administration, in the form of these Bylaws and the General Regulations.

Art. 76. Regularly enrolled students will be able to organize Directories and Associations, obeying the provisions of the General Regulations and in accordance with the legislation in force.

Section III
Technical-Administrative Body

Art. 77. The technical-administrative staff is made up of personnel hired for this purpose by the Maintaining Entity, in accordance with the provisions of the Consolidation of Labor Laws.

Art. 78. It is up to the administration bodies, within the scope of their competences, to supervise the technical-administrative activities.

TITLE VI
ASSET AND FINANCIAL ORGANIZATION

CHAPTER I
EQUITY

Art. 79. The Maintaining Entity, under the terms of its Social Contract, is the owner of all assets and rights made available to Universidade Paulista – UNIP.

Art. 80. It is incumbent upon the Maintaining Entity to promote suitable operating conditions for the activities of Universidade Paulista – UNIP, making available the necessary movable and immovable property, belonging to its own assets or those of third parties assigned to it, and ensuring sufficient financial resources to funding for its purposes, under the terms of the approved budget plan.

CHAPTER II
FINANCIAL REGIME

Art. 81. The financial year coincides with the calendar year.

Art. 82. The financial resources available to the University come from:

I - Monthly fees, fees and fees;

II - Income arising from the registration of rights and patents, in compliance with the legislation in force and the rules established by the Maintaining Entity;

III - Financial donations from the Sponsoring Entity;

IV - Acceptance of legacy, donations and inheritances;

V - Grants, aid, contributions, sums attributed to it by public or private entities;

VI - Income from the provision of services;

VII - Possible income of any nature;

VIII - Income from investment of assets and equity values.

Art. 83. Acceptance depends on the Maintaining Entity:

I - Resources, bequests, donations and agreements;

II - Approval of the budget proposal;

III - The salary policy, the setting of annuities, fees and emoluments, respecting the legislation in force.

Art. 84. It is incumbent upon the Rectory to prepare the annual budget proposal, with the participation of the higher decision-making bodies, to be submitted to the Sponsor's approval, as well as the rendering of accounts for the previous year.

TITLE VII
OF DEGREES, DIPLOMAS, CERTIFICATES AND HONORIFIC TITLES

Art. 85. The University will grant:

I - Diplomas to those who conclude graduation courses, after graduation in public session;

II - Diplomas to those who conclude stricto sensu postgraduate courses , after defending and approving the dissertation or thesis;

III - Certificates for those who conclude lato sensu and extension postgraduate courses .

Art. 86. The University may grant Honorary Degrees, as prescribed by the General Regulations, after approval by the competent bodies.

TITLE VIII
GENERAL PROVISIONS

Art. 87. It is up to the teaching, student and technical-administrative bodies to faithfully observe the precepts required for the good order and dignity of the University.

Art. 88. Occupants of Management, Higher Administration and Academic Administration positions, as well as teaching and technical-administrative personnel, must refrain from promoting or authorizing, in the exercise of their activities, manifestations of a political-party nature.

Art. 89. The University may maintain agreements with national and international Institutions for technical, scientific and cultural cooperation, for the exchange of professors and students and others related to its objectives and functions, after approval by the Supporting Entity.

Art. 90. The present Statute can only be reformed or altered by proposal of initiative of the Rector, of 2/3 (two thirds) of the members of the University Council or of the Supporting Entity, in what is within its competence.

Art. 91. This Statute will enter into force on the date of its approval by the University Council (CONSUNI) or, in the hypotheses determined by the applicable regulations, upon its approval by the relevant bodies.
