MASTER

Minimum credits to obtain the title

Total credits required to obtain the degree: 90 (ninety)

Students entering from the 2nd semester of 2026 onwards:

  • Courses: 14 (fourteen) credits - 7 (seven) courses
  • English language proficiency
  • Technical-Scientific Production: 6 (six) credits
  • Qualifying Examination: 10 (ten) credits
  • Integrative research and scientific production activities (including Permanent Seminar/Research Project): 30 (thirty) credits
  • Master's Dissertation: 30 (thirty) credits

Other classes:

  • Subjects: 30 (thirty) credits - 6 (six) subjects
  • English language proficiency
  • Article Publication: 5 (five) credits
  • Qualifying Examination: 10 (ten) credits
  • Research Guidance and Execution: 15 (fifteen) credits in mandatory in-person activities (Project and Article Workshops), according to the schedule defined by the research line.
  • Master's Dissertation: 30 (thirty) credits

DEADLINE FOR OBTAINING THE TITLE
Minimum: 24 (twenty-four) months
The qualification should occur until the 20th month.

DOCTORATE

Minimum credits to obtain the title:

Total credits required to obtain the degree: 180 (one hundred and eighty)

Students entering from the 2nd semester of 2026 onwards:

  • Courses: 16 (sixteen) credits - 8 (eight) courses
  • Foreign language proficiency (different from that required in the Master's program)
  • Technical-Scientific Production: 6 (six) credits
  • Pre-qualification: 10 (ten) credits
  • Qualifying Examination: 10 (ten) credits
  • Integrative research and scientific production activities (including Permanent Seminar/Research Project): 78 (seventy-eight) credits
  • Doctoral Thesis: 60 (sixty) credits

Other classes:

  • Courses: 20 (twenty) credits - 4 (four) courses
  • Foreign language proficiency (different from that required in the Master's program) Master's Degree)
  • Article Publication: 5 (five) credits
  • Qualifying Examination: 10 (ten) credits
  • Seminars: 10 (ten) credits
  • Research Guidance and Execution: 75 (seventy-five) credits, of which 15 (fifteen) credits are in mandatory in-person activities (Project and Article Workshops), according to the schedule defined by the research line.
  • Doctoral Thesis: 60 (sixty) credits

Deadline For Obtaining the Title
Minimum: 36 (Thirty-six) months
Maximum: 48 (fourty-eight) months

Qualification must occur by the 36th (thirty-sixth) month. For PROSUP/CAPES scholarship students, qualification must occur by the 30th (thirtieth) month.

Important: Incoming students must register according to the current curriculum structure of the Program, observing the mandatory subjects and academic activities planned for their training trajectory, in accordance with the guidelines of their respective advisor and the Program Coordination.

Integrative research and scientific production activities, including the Permanent Seminar/Research Project, are mandatory. The corresponding credits will only be awarded upon completion of the activities and academic tasks foreseen by the Program.
